Established in 2008, the Independent Windscreen Academy is a wholly owned subsidiary of leading independent automotive glazing business, Essex Glass and Windscreens. The group is owned and managed by Leon and Maria Charlton, who have worked within the independent windscreen market for over fifteen years.
IWA was the first centre in the UK independent automotive glazing sector to offer assessments for the national Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) scheme, governed by the Institute of the Motor Industry. The ATA scheme and the glass sector’s ‘Q-card’ run by the Glass Qualifications Authority both recognise individuals who have proven their skills and knowledge and are committed to continuing professional development to keep pace with rapidly advancing technology.
As well as offering this industry specific recognition, IWA helps automotive glazing technicians achieve the National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) in Automotive Glazing, which carries Government funding.
The team at IWA has a wealth of experience and expertise in training and assessment and is here to answer your questions and advise you on the best way to develop your skills.
