In this complex and critically important industry, which is almost entirely male populated, Maria Charlton has positioned IWA as an organisation whose mission is to help businesses in the automotive glazing sector step up to new challenges and realise their full potential by improving the skills, competence and knowledge of people at the sharp end.
With a wealth of experience in education and training, Maria is passionate about ensuring there is a structured career path available to young people interested in a career in this sector. She has developed the first industry specific Apprenticeship for the independent market in England and Scotland.
Maria was a shortlisted finalist for the 2009 Women on Their Way Awards, which celebrate the achievements of women in traditionally male dominated industries.
