The International Master Fitter Competition

This global contest provides automotive glazing technicians the chance to pit their skills against the best in the world for the ultimate prize – to be crowned International Master Fitter Champion.

Held on the continent each year at the Glasstec International Trade Fair during October, the IMF competition is organised by The International Automotive Glass Federation™. Participation is free of charge and is open to installers of automotive glass who take part in IAGF member competitions to determine a field of national champions.

For the first time, the UK is holding a national competition to find a champion who will represent the UK at the 2010 International Master Fitter Competition.

Organised by ProSkills, the Sector Skills Council for the glass and glazing industries, the competition will require technicians to repair and replace a windscreen, as well as replace a side window and rear window, within a specified timeframe. Competitors are allowed to use their own tools or those provided.

The deadline for entries has now passed. Five regional finals will be held during May, June and July and the national final will take place at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on 16 September.
